Pak assures safety of abducted Afghan envoy
Islamabad, Sep 23: Pakistan has reportedly assured Afghanistan of taking all 'necessary measures' to ensure the safety of its abducted ambassador Abdul Khaliq Farahi in Pakistan.
Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi contacted his Afghan counterpart and strongly condemned the kidnapping of the Afghan envoy, The News quoted a Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman as saying. Quereshi assured his Afghan counterpart of taking all possible steps for the safe release of the Afghan envoy. According to him, Qureshi also expressed his grief over the killing of the envoy's driver in the attack. Some unidentified gunmen had kidnapped Afghan ambassador to Pakistan and killed his driver in an ambush from Peshawar on Monday, Sep 22.
