Only two bodies of Dubai fire victims sent as yet to AP
Dubai, Sep 21 (UNI) Nearly three weeks after a fire here killed 10 Indian workers from Andhra Pradesh, only two bodies were handed over by the authorities to be sent home for funeral.
Ten workers from Andhra Pradesh were killed in a fire in an overcrowded villa in Deira.
Dubai police today handed over the bodies of Gangaram Palepu, son of Chinnaiah and Sanjeev Kokku, son of Thukanna Kokku after completion of DNA identification process.
The Consulate was making all arrangements to send the two dead bodies to the families of the victims along with accompanying relatives.
All expenses in this connection were being arranged by the Consulate through the Indian Community Welfare Committee.
For the remaining eight deceased, the process of identification through DNA test was still underway.
As soon as these bodies are handed over after identification, the Consulate would make all necessary arrangements to send them also to the families in India, the Consulate said in a release.
