Mumbai, Sept 9 (UNI) Media and entertainment global majors, Fox and Star today announced the formation of a joint venture Fox Star Studios (FSS) to produce world class local language films in Asia for worldwide distribution.

The new venture will make its first foray in India and soon expand into Asian markets, including China and South East Asia .

It will begin its maiden operation in the country through Fox Star Studios (India) with the appointment of Vijay Singh as its CEO.

Mr Singh currently holds the position of President, Strategy and Corporate Development of Star India .

The Studios has planned to produce Bollywood and other regional films. It will also build a national theatrical distribution footprint and enhance capabilities in the home entertainment and digital media platforms in India, while leveraging Fox Theatrical Network's global distribution strength across 44 countries, a release issued here today said.
