Deuba to be parliamentary party leader of Nepali Congress

Kathmandu, Sep 9 (UNI) The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to elect former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba as the leader of the parliamentary party to be the leader of the main Opposition party in the Constituent Assembly (CA).

NC president and former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala told the party lamakers that the party must proceed as a responsible Opposition party in the Assembly.

The NC, which is the second largest party in the CA, has not joined the Maoist-led government.

The present CA has the clear majority of the communist parties including the Maoists and the UML.
