First tripartite meeting of GNLF held

New Delhi, Sep 8 (UNI) The first tripartite meeting of the Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) was held here today.

The meeting chaired by Union Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta was attended by State Chief Secretary of West Bengal Amit Kiran Deb.

The 19-member team of GNLF was led by party general secretary Roshan Giri.

Talking to UNI over the phone, Mr Giri said the meeting lasted nearly one hour during which the GNLF pressed its demands and view points before the Home Secretary.

He said GNLF will not accept anything other than full statehood for Gorkhaland within the Indian Constitution.

The next round of the meeting would be held in November.

The date has not been fixed.
