Groundnutseed, edible oils move downwards

Mumbai, Sep 2 (UNI) Prices of groundnutseed and edible oils, including sunflower, soyabean refined and palmolein refined, today suffered a major setback on thin demand from bulk consumers in face of larger stocks arrivals from Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and some southern regions, traders at the Bombay Commodity Exchange said.

In oils (10 kg), groundnut raw, sunflower refined and RBD palmolein rose again by Rs five, Rs six and Rs four respectively, while soyabean refined eased by Rs ten, on sluggish demand from stockists induced by weaker advice from producing centres. Castor comm advanced by Rs two on scattered buying support from bulk consumers, traders said.

Among seeds (per quintal), groundnutseed and nigerseed came down by Rs 15 and Rs 10 respectively, on slack demand from local dealers.

Castorseed Bombay also eased by Rs five on increased selling pressure by stock-holders.

Javas 60/70, javas 70/80 and javas 80/90 too eased by Rs five each on poor demand by stockists.

All de-oiled cakes remained steady.
