Bondla Zoo to be expanded soon: Minister

Panaji, Aug 19 (UNI) Goa government has decided to appoint S K Patnaik of Orissa as its consultant for developing the famous Bondla Zoo in north Goa, state forest minister said today.

Replying to a debate on budget demands for forests, minister Philipe Neri Rodrigues told the State Legislative Assembly that the Central Zoo Authority of the Government of India had asked the Goa government to draw master plan for Bondla Zoo by next year to facilitate its expansion.

It was planned to expand the zoo from the existing 10 hectares to about 40 hectares in future, he added.
