Two dead, two injured as car hits tree

Tiruchirapalli, Aug 17 (UNI) Two persons including a two-year-old girl were killed and two others including a four year old girl seriously injured when the car, in which they were travelling rammed into a roadside tree at Thuraiyur near here today.

Police said, the deceased were identified as Arulselvan (31) and his daughter Nisha (2).

The injured Mrs Geetha (28) wife of the deceased and their another daughter Jeevika, were admitted to a private hospital here.

Police said, the deceased and his family were proceeding to their native Erakudi village, from Chennai to attend his brother's marriage to be held on August 21.

The mishap occurred when Arulselvan, who was driving the car, tried to pacify his daughter sitting near him and lost control over the vehicle.
