Art exhibition of artists from India and Bangladesh begins
Dhaka, Aug 17 (UNI) A two-week exhibition of the art works of eleven eminent artists from India and Bangladesh got under way at Galleri Kaya here today.
The exhibition was jointly inaugurated by top Indian painter Bijan Choudhury, senior Bangladeshi artist Aminul Islam and eminent cultural personality Asaduzzaman Noor.
This high profile exhibition will provide viewers and art connoisseurs of the country with some 50 paintings put together from across the frontiers of the two neighbouring countries.
Galleri Kaya, a gallery of contemporary art in Uttara in the city, organised the event sponsored by United News of Bangladesh (UNB) and Dhaka Courier.
The painters from India participating in the joint show are : Bijan Choudhury, Gautam Partha Roy, Prakash Baise, Kashinath Salve and Shukhamoy Majumder.
The Bangladeshi painters are : Aminul Islam, Murtaja Baseer, Quyyum Chowdhury, Rafiqun Nabi, Ranjit Das and Kazi Rakib.
On the fringes of the exhibition, the artists from the two countries, many of them considered as contemporary master painters, will hold a drawing session at Gallery Cosmos tomorrow.
