Special water and tear resistant envelopes for Rakhis

Chandigarh, Aug 1 (UNI) To ensure fast and safe delivery of Rakhi envelopes, India Post has designed water proof and tear resistant envelopes.

"These envelopes have been specially designed to provide higher protection to Rakhis as it was noticed that many a time Rakhis got damaged in transit due to heavy rains," Chief Postmaster General, Punjab Circle said here today.

The attractive envelopes would be available for Rs 5, apart from the normal postage charges, at all the Post Offices including branch post offices in the rural areas through out the state and UT Chandigarh, he said.

Moreover, their use would ensure fast delivery as normal rakhi envelopes get mixed up with other mail, which causes delay at times, he added.
