Cong emerged the strongest party: APCC chief
Hyderabad, Jul 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President D Srinivas today said the Congress had emerged as the ''strongest and most powerful party'' both at the Centre and in the State as the people had shown confidence in it.
Addressing the press after attending various programmes with AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi at party headquarters Gandhi Bhavan here, he said, ''No party can emerge as an alternative to the Congress. The party will have clear majority. The people know that the Congress alone can deliver the goods to all sections of the society.'' Asked whether the Congress would forge an alliance with other political parties in the next elections, he said if any party which liked the policy and programmes of the Congress came forward, the party would consider it.
He said the party could contest the elections alone and win. There were several instances where it had contested alone and won.
He expressed the hope that the Congress would secure full majority in the next elections and retain power in the State.
