UPA victory a national shame: BJP

Aizawl, Jul 24 (UNI) The victory of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre had exposed the alleged corrupt practices by the national party to cling on to power in an illegitimate manner, said the Mizoram unit of the BJP today.

''It has exposed the lack of morality of the Congress to every Indian, who witnessed the farce of the UPA victory in Parliament on July 22,'' a party statement said here.

The BJP also accused the Congress of ''purchasing MPs after throwing moral principles out of the window''.

''It is because of the policy of integration that the BJP has won state after state in the Assembly elections held in the country so far. It is also this policy that will sweep the NDA to power in Delhi in the coming Lok Sabha poll,'' the party stated.

''The Congress may have saved its government by purchasing MPs by paying crores of rupees, but can it purchase crores of voters all over the country in a similar manner?'' the statement questioned.

''In Mizoram too, the writing is on the wall for the Congress.

All over the state the voters are in no mood to instal the Congress government. And the UPA's victory in the Lok Sabha is the nail on the Congress' coffin,'' the BJP claimed.
