8 Injured in bomb blast

Imphal, Jun 26 (UNI) Six women and two children were injured in a bomb blast at Ningthoukhong in Manipur's Bishenpur district today.

Police said the blast occurred when a large number of women were staging a protest demonstration demanding monetary benefits at Ningthoukhong market. Two persons came and lobbed a hand grenade which fell near the place where the women were staging protest.

In the blast, six women and two children were injured.

Police started a combing operation to apprehend those involved in the incident. The entry and exit points of the district were also sealed.

The injured were recovering at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences.
