Sonia asks Bengal Cong to look proper utilisation central funds
Kolkata, Jun 16 (UNI) AICC Minority Cell general secretary Shakeel Ansari today charged the CPI(M)-led Left Front Government with doing nothing for the uplift of the Muslim community in the state.
Talking to newsmen here, Mr Ansari said, '' The UPA Government at the Centre has taken some measures for the development of the minority community after publishing the Sachhar Committee report, while the Left Front government in West Bengal has done nothing for the Muslim Community in their 32-year regime. '' He said, '' Over 26 per cent Muslims are living in the country and in our Constitution everybody has equal right and the Sachhar Committee report has shown their pathetic condition. But the Muslims in the state are far behind economically and educationally than other states. '' '' We are congratulating UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for setting up the Sachhar Committee while demanding apology from the BJP and RSS for opposing its report, '' he stated.
