Bangladesh mourns cyclone, quake victims in Myanmar and China
Dhaka, May 20 (UNI) Bangladesh National Flag will be flown half mast tomorrow at government, semi-government, autonomous and non-governmental organisation buildings and in its missions abroad as the country mourns cyclone and earthquake victims in Myanmar and China.
An official announcement said the government took the decision "to pay respects to the memory of the people who died in recent cyclone and earthquake in Myanmar and China respectively".
About 78,000 people were officially reported killed as cyclone 'Nargis' ravaged the coast of Myanmar on May 3 while the death toll so far has climbed over 40,000 in China in a devastating earthquake on May 12.
