Congress geared up for AP by-elections: APCC President

Hyderabad, Mar 29 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President D Srinivas today said the party was geared up for the by-elections in the state following the resignation of Telanagana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Legislators.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the party leaders and workers would unitedly fight the elections in the state.

The party had directed the party leaders and workers to create awareness among the people on the developmental programmes taken up by the government during the last four years.

He said he had already met party senior leaders from Telangana and discussed party matters.

All the seniors leaders had extended their support to strengthen the party.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would launch Rs 2-a-kilo-rice scheme in Mahaboonagar district and the same would be launched all over the state.

He said the rice would be supplied to nearly one crore white ration card holders through the Public Distribution System.
