38 bombs seized from Coastal village in TN
Tirunelveli, Feb 3: Tamil Nadu police seized 38 low- intensity country-made bombs from the Coastal village of Koothankuzhi near Thisayanvilai, about 85 km from here, last night.
Police said the seizure was effected after interrogation of a gang that involved in the murder of a fisherman Reagan (26) of the village over gang rivalry. A team of sleuths from Tamil Nadu Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) rushed to the village and recovered bombs buried in the sands.
An investigation was, underway, police added.
Koothankuzhi village was noted for gang rivalry between two groups of fishermen and in 1999, police seized 2,500 bombs from the village.
