Dubai to have world's longest arch bridge

Dubai, Jan 30 (UNI) Dubai plans to build the world's longest arch bridge at a cost of 3 billion dirhams (816.9 million dollars) which will overtake Lupu Bridge of Shanghai, currently the longest.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) here said the new bridge would take four years to construct with a length of 1.6 kms with an arch 205 metres high and 667 metres long.

The bridge is expected to reduce traffic congestion on Dubai roads.
