Parties jointly holding mass meeting in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Jan 14 (UNI) The seven politicial parties are holding a joint mass meeting to assure people that they are really determined to hold Constituent Assembly (CA) polls by April.

''We have completed all necessary work for mass meeting. It will give new message to the people that top leaders of seven parties are serious about the CA elections,'' Prakash Man Singh, coordinator of mass meeting, told the media persons.

Mr Singh said Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala was also expected to address the meeting if his health allowed.

Similarly, Maoist Chairman Prachanda, CPN-UML General Secretary Madav Kumar Nepal, CPN-ML's CP Mainali, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party's Narayan Man Bijukchhe and other top leaders are scheduled to address the meetings.

''It will be a competition to bring more party workers. I think it will be a bigger mass than ever before,'' said Krishna Gopal Shresha, CPN-UML central committee member.

The committee has selected 500 volunteers to manage the meeting area while 1,000 extra volunteers are separated to maintain security in the capital.
