Seven Kazakhs killed in factory fire in St Petersburg
Moscow, Jan 13 (UNI) Seven people died and four were hospitalised as a result of a fire today at the Elektropult factory in St Petersburg, Itar-Tass news agency reported quoting the St Petersburg branch of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
A report about the fire in a wooden makeshift house at the Khimiki Street was received at 0733 hours Moscow time. Preliminary information said more than ten Kazakhs were living in the house.
The fire was put out quickly, but seven people died on the spot from burns, while another four were hospitalised, the report said.
Chief of the St Petersburg branch of the Russian Emergencies Ministry as well as heads of the local police and prosecutor's office arrived at the scene of the fire to find out the cause of the accident.
