Rly incurs more than Rs 3cr loss due to Gujjar stir
Jaipur, June 30: The Indian Railways has incurred a loss of more than Rs 3 crore during the violent Gujjar agitation in Rajasthan.
North-Western Railways General Manager Ashok Gupta told mediapersons here today that an actual assessment of the damage was on now but rough estimates say the loss amounted to more than Rs 3 crore.
He said tickets worth Rs 1.35 crore had to be returned due to disruption in train services. Apart from this, the Railways incurred a loss of Rs 3 crore revenue. Damage to train property amounted to Rs 15-20 lakh.
Mr Gupta said the maximum amount of damage to the Railway property occurred in Kota division.
