Call Pratibha 'Rashtradhyaksh': Thackeray

Mumbai, Jun 23: Even as the Shiv Sena is yet to take a stand clear over supporting UPA Presidential nominee Pratibha Patil for the top post, party supremo Bal Thackeray has said she be referred to as ''Rashtradhyaksh' .

He noted that India is set to get the first woman President in the form of Pratibhatai Patil.

''Ever since Pratibhatai's name has been announced as the Presidential nominee, there is a debate that being a woman, how she should be referred when she assumes charge at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. I feel that there is no need for a 'Pati' or 'Patni', Pratibhatai should be called Rashtradhyaksh, ''Mr Thackeray said in a statement which appeared in today's issue of his party mouthpiece 'Saamna'.

Mr Thackeray is slated to announce his party's stand on the July 19 Presidential poll on June 25.
