President accepts Pratibha's resignation

New Delhi, June 22: The President has accepted the resignation of Rajasthan Governor Pratibha Patil and asked Haryana Governor Dr A R Kidwai to discharge additional responsibilities of Governor of Rajasthan, a Rashtrapati Bhawan communique today said.

Ms Patil resigned yesterday ahead of filing her nomination for contesting the July 19 Presidential election as the UPA nominee supported by the Left parties and the BSP.
