'Apollo' chief to be questioned by Delhi Police

New Delhi, June 14: Police officials here plan to question Chairman of the 'Apollo' chain of hospitals Pratap Reddy in the next few days for his alleged involvement in fudging records and trying to mislead investigations in the Rahul Mahajan case.

Claiming to have ''ample evidence'' to nail Reddy and one of his aides Raji Chandru for going against the law and ''playing'' with documents to hide the ''truth'', a senior police official involved in the investigations said some uncomfortable questions await them.

''We would also like to question them on why was the police informed of the incident by the hospial sources more than two hours after Rahul and Vivek Moitra were brought to Apollo.'' Fudging of medical records of Rahul and not permitting the police to talk to him even when he was fit to make a statement are other areas which needed to be clarified by them during questioning, said the officer.

Phone records of Raji, Harish Sharma (late Pramod Mahajan's PA) and Pratap Reddy have revealed that the three talked to each other before the police was informed about the episode.

Besides, while Apollo Hospital had declared Rahul's samples 'negative', those sent to Dr Lal's Path Labs had found that his urine samples contained drugs.
