Malayalam Filmmaker Vinu Dies At 73

Popular Malayalam filmmaker Vinu passed away in Coimbatore on Wednesday, January 10. He was 73 years old. According to the reports, Vinu was unwell for a very long time. He died in a hospital where he was receiving treatment. Malayalam film producers' organization, FEFKA, expressed grief on Vinu's demise and extended condolences to the family.

A note by the Malayalam film producers' organization, written in Malayalam, reads: "Vinu (73), who was a part of the director duo Suresh and Vinu, passed away this morning at a hospital in Coimbatore. The first information is that he was admitted to the hospital on the previous day after being infected. (He)Was in the backstage activities of a psycho-thriller movie."

The ace filmmaker delivered many big hits including Mangalam Vitthil Manaseswari Gupta, Kusruthi Kattu, and Ayushman Bhava. His last film was Kanichukulangarayil CBI which ruled the silver screen in 2008. Reports said Vinu was working on a psychological thriller project, which is now likely to be closed.

Vinu collaborated with director Suresh to deliver many Malayalam films.

According to the reports, the filmmakers' funeral will take place on Thursday at 10.30 am at Singanelloor Cemetery, Coimbatore.

Vinu is now survived by his wife, Anuradha Radhakrishnan, and two children, Monica, and Nimish.
