Lord Krishna Performed Namaz 5 Times a Day: Muslim Cleric Claims; Hindu Seer Says 'Cut Off' Maulana's Tongue

Mahamandaleshwar Vishnu Das has hit out at a controversial UP cleric who claimed Lord Krishna offered namaz five times a day and claimed that his "tongue should be cut off".

Speaking to IANS, the Hindu seer said, "A Maulana has claimed that Lord Krishna was a Muslim and offered namaz. Whoever cuts off his tongue will be rewarded with ₹10 lakh. He has hurt the religious sentiments of Lord Krishna's devotees. He does not know even a single word of Sanskrit and is misinterpreting verses from the Bhagavad Gita..."

Maulana Jarjis Ansari landed in a new controversy after a video of his speech went viral on social media. During a speech on June 23 in Jharkhand, he mentioned a verse from the Bhagavad Gita and explained to the crowd that Islam is an universal faith loved by Lord Krishna and Lord Ram, India Today reported.

"If our brothers do not mind, then even Krishna ji used to offer prayers five times a day. If you do not believe, then see the 10th verse of the 6th chapter of Shri Bhagavad Gita," Ansari stated and recited the verse from the Hindu scripture. The UP cleric stated that the Hindus too love Islam if they closely studied their scriptures.

"If these Hindu Muslims read their books... then believe that they will start loving Islam. Because Islam is the religion of the world. This is not the religion of the Muslims. Ramchandra ji has also presented this religion. Krishna ji has also presented it," he added.

However, the report highlights that the Chapter 6, Verse 10 of the Bhagavad Gita does not align with his interpretation.

Ansari is not new to controversies. Earlier, he triggered a major row after claiming that it is a "grave sin" if Muslim women turn down their husband's sexual advances.

Meanwhile, Mahamandaleshwar Vishnu Dash has also criticised Congress leader Saifuddin Soz's demand for the restoration of the erstwhile state's special status under Article 370.

He said, "Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi spends more time abroad than in India. He loves spending time abroad. He should counsel his own party leaders instead of allowing them to make such statements. Some Congress leaders say that Article 370 should be restored. Such leaders should not live in India. Rahul Gandhi does not rein in his leaders. They make irresponsible statements and support Muslims with the intention of harming Hindus. They dream of turning India into an Islamic nation..."

Kashmir leader Soz said on Wednesday that the National Conference should not confine its protest to Jantar Mantar for only the restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir but also raise the demand for the reinstatement of Article 370 which was abrogated by the NDA government in 2019.
