Zeenat spoke about her family background and revealed that while the world knows her as Zeenat Aman, she also has a name from her mother's side. She shared, "My name from my father's side is Zeenat Aman, but from my mother's side, my name is Laliteshwari."

The actress explained that her mother, Vardhini, was a deeply religious Hindu woman. Zeenat mentioned that her mother used to perform puja every day and spent at least two to three hours in prayer. Her mother played a crucial role in her upbringing, as she was raised primarily under her care.

Why Zeenat Aman Doesn't Follow One Religion

When asked whether she considers herself a religious person, Zeenat gave a straightforward answer: no.

She said, "My mother was Hindu, my father was Muslim, and the father of my children is also Muslim. I studied in a Catholic school, and my stepfather is German, so I was exposed to a very global way of life."

Because of this diverse upbringing, Zeenat said she never felt the need to strictly follow any one religion. Instead, she developed a broader outlook on spirituality and human values.

"All religions are good; no religion teaches you to do anything wrong. I believe in humanity, kindness, peace, equality, and love for people and animals. That is my religion," she added.
