Vinesh Phogat Books Medal, Storms Into 50kg Wrestling Finals At Paris Olympics 2024
India's star wrestler Vinesh Phogat on Tuesday booked a medal as she defeated Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez in a dominating manner. Vinesh Phogat won the semi-final math by 5-0 to become India's first women wrestler to enter Olympic finals.
This victory has assured a silver medal for Indian contingent and every countryman will now hope for a gold in wrestling from Vinesh.

Earlier today, in the quarter-final match she defeated former European champion and 2018 world championship bronze-medalist Oksana Livach of Ukraine by 7-5.
"Khud Hi Ko Kr Buland Itna Ki Khuda Khud Tujhse Pooche Bata Teri Raza Kya Hai" (Make yourself so strong, do so much hard work that even god will ask you your will before making any decision for your life), Vinesh Phogat wrote on Instagram before her semi-final bout.
For the unversed, Vinesh Phogat faced a lot of hurdles before Olympic qualifications by the erstwhile Wrestling Federation. This win will be a tight slap on the people who were criticising her and claiming that senior players did not want to play or practice.
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) celebrated Vinesh Phogat's historic win with a tweet on social media.
