RCB In WPL 2024 Preview: Royal Challengers Bangalore Has An Edge In Women's Premier League, Here's Why
Big sixes. A mountain of runs. Fiery Bowling. Dismissals. And Terrific fielding. Yes! it is time for the Women's Premier League (WPL 2024). The second edition of the enthralling cricket tournament is around the corner, where five franchise teams will lock horns to claim the glittering trophy. The inaugural edition of Women's Premier League (WPL) was won by Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai Indians, while Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), UP Warriorz, Delhi Capitals, and Gujarat Giants would put their best to clinch the cup this time.
Last year, all matches were played in Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium, Wankhede Stadium, and Dr DY Patil Stadium, which gave the city franchise an edge. Similarly, it is expected that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) have better chances to win the tournament as they have a plus point of playing on home grounds.

As per the schedule announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Women's Premier League (WPL 2024) matches will be organized at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, and the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi between February 23 to March 17, 2024.

A day ago, former cricketer Anjum Chopra lauded RCB selectors for picking a perfectly balanced side studded with international and domestic stars. "I will put in RCB in the midst of things for season 2. On paper, they are a very balanced squad and they will aim to get the performances right this time. They are definitely the one to look out for in this season," said the former Indian captain.
Noticing a great response from the fans, the cricket governing body decided to go ahead with the second edition of the WPLs and spread its wings across the country and not just keep it limited to only Mumbai-based fan base.
