Ranji Trophy 2024: Mumbai Team Drops Prithvi Shaw For Match Vs Tripura; Cricketer Replies With A Sarcastic Pos

Soon after reports surfaced online that Mumbai's Ranji Trophy team has decided to drop Prithvi Shaw for the upcoming match vs Tripura, IPL Star shared a sarcastic four-word post on Instagram. According to the reports, Mumbai team management and selectors, which includes Ajinkya Rahane and head coach Omkar Salvi, took the harsh call to snub Prithvi Shaw following several discipline-related complaints and not appearing in practice sessions. It was also learned that management is not happy with Prithvi Shaw's fitness and being overweight.

The 24-year-old cricketer post "Need a break thx," with a smiling emoji on his Instagram, which caught everyone's attention.

According to reports, the 24-year-old cricketer's body contains 35% fat, which is not good for a player, questioning his fitness and he is being asked to take two weeks of a fitness programme prepared by Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) trainers.

It was also learned that senior cricketers like Shreyas Iyer and Shardul Thakur are consistent in the nets, while Prithvi Shaw has been skipping net sessions without even informing anyone. Also when he appears at nets, he tends to take practice lightly and his attitude towards the game doesn't look serious, reports said.

Prithvi Shaw, who was tagged as the next Sachin Tendulkar following his achievements including centuries on the Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, and international test debuts. While his talent has never been questioned, but his attitude on and off the field surely created hurdles for him in his cricketing journey.

Lately, his performance was also not marked as satisfactory as IPL Franchise Delhi Capitals dropped him for a few matches in the last edition and sources also said that there's a question mark looming over his retention for this IPL season.
