Ind Vs Afg 3rd T20: Rahul Dravid Praises Rohit Sharma's Ace Move, Compares It With R Ashwin's IPL Decision
India vs Afghanistan 3rd T20 which was anticipated as just a formality after Rohit Sharma and men bagged the first two games of the three-match series, turned out to be a historic match. In the history of T20 cricket, a double-super-over happened for the first time. But several moments in the game made fans raise their eyebrows. Rohit Sharma's decision to get retired hut on the last ball of the first super over was an ace move, but controversial as Rohit came out to bat in the second super over too.
According to the ICC rules, a batter is allowed to bat in the Super Over only once, if he gets out, he cannot bat again if another Super Over takes place. The same announcement was made by commentator Aakash Chopra, who put a question mark on what was happening.

The situation and rule were explained by an official after the match, who said, that if the opposition captain or coach does not raise any objection, a batsman can bat again in the second Super Over.
Team India's head coach Rahul Dravid too shed light on it. He called Rohit Sharma's decision a smart move like R Ashwin. The spinner did a similar tactical swap during an IPL 2022 match between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants.
In a conversation with Jio Tv broadcaster, Rahul Dravid said "It was Ash-level thinking. Taking himself out was Ash-level thinking."
On the other side, Afghanistan coach Jonathan Trott questioned setting new rules saying there was no communication between players and officials.
"I have no idea (whether Rohit retired hurt or out). Has there ever been two Super Overs? That's what I am trying to say. We keep setting these new rules. What I am trying to say is we kept testing the rules, we kept testing the guidelines," said Trott in the post-match conference.
