Mohammed Shami Receives Arjuna Award From President Droupadi Murmu

Cricketer Mohammed Shami was honored with the prestigious Arjuna Award by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu on January 9. Shami's nomination for the award came from the Board of Control for Cricket in India, acknowledging his exceptional performance during the ODI World Cup 2023.

Ending the World Cup 2023 as the tournament's leading wicket-taker, Shami claimed an impressive tally of 24 wickets from a mere 7 matches, solidifying his remarkable impact in the competition.

26 sportspersons, including Shami, today received the Arjuna Awards from the President for their impressive performances in 2023 that helped the nation sides to emerge victorious.
