Not far behind is Abhinav Manohar, who also went to the Hubli Tigers for ₹12.20 lakhs. Manohar, who previously represented Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, was a hot property owing to his past performances. His aggressive middle-order batting will add depth and power to the Tigers' lineup.

Sharing the second spot is seasoned campaigner Manish Pandey, who will turn out for the Mysore Warriors after being picked up for ₹12.20 lakhs. A proven match-winner with international and IPL experience, Pandey is expected to bring leadership and reliability to Mysore's batting unit along with star batter Karun Nair.

Fast bowler Vidwath Kaverappa, a rising star who featured in the BCCI's pace contract list, was snapped up by the Shivamogga Lions for a hefty ₹10.80 lakhs. His ability to swing the ball and strike early makes him a valuable asset in T20s.

Rounding off the top five is Vidyadhar Patil, who attracted a bid of ₹8.40 lakhs from the Bengaluru Blasters. Known for his sharp bowling and breakthrough ability, Patil is expected to spearhead the Blasters' bowling attack.

As the auction continues, more fireworks are expected. But these top five buys have already set the tone, underlining the franchises' faith in Karnataka's best cricketing talent. The 2025 Maharaja Trophy promises to be a fiercely competitive tournament built on bold investments and big ambitions.
