Know What PM Modi Said To Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli During Facilitation Meet

India's T20 World Cup 2024 winning team was warmly welcomed by millions of cricket fans on Thursday. Rohit Sharma and men defeated South Africa in the finals by 7 runs to clinch the cup. The title win ended 13 years drought of not winning an ICC trophy.

But before coming to Mumbai, Team India met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in Delhi. All players, support staff and officials were facilitated by PM Modi and a photo session was done team as well as individually to make them feel honoured.

PM Modi also hosted breakfast for the world champions. During the meeting PM interacted with all the players, and now their conversation is out.

According to reports, PM Modi asked Rohit Sharma how mud tastes.

The question was in reference to Indian skipper's 'eating sand act', which he did at the Barbados after winning the world cup.

PM Modi then talked to Virat Kohli and asked him about his mindset before the World Cup finals. Virat, who was Player of the Match in the Finals, not had a very good tournament with the bat as he failed to score big in 6 matches. However, he did not lose hope and answered critics in the big encounter by notching 76 runs.

Virat said that he just tried to stick to the basics.

All-rounder Axar Patel also played heroic in the summit clash. He scored 47 and stitched a valuable partnership of 72 runs along with Virat Kohli. Thanks to their partnership, India pinned a respectable total of 176/7.

PM Modi also asked Axar about his emotions about batting up the order during such a crucial match. He also interacted and asked Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Bumrah about their thoughts during the last four overs of South Africa's chase.

Later in the day, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) facilitated players and awarded a cash prize of Rs 125 crore.

"Mumbai never disappoints. We got a solid reception. On behalf of the team, we would like to thank the fans. I am very very happy and relieved," Rohit said during the event at Wankhede Stadium.
