An ugly moment in the IPL 2026 clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings sparked outrage after a group of spectators allegedly misbehaved with cheerleaders inside Lucknow’s Ekana Cricket Stadium during the match.

The incident unfolded near the boundary line, where cheerleaders were performing as Punjab Kings chased down Lucknow’s total. According to visuals from the stadium, a section of fans gathered close to the performance area and reportedly passed inappropriate remarks, forcing security officials and police personnel to intervene.

A female police officer was seen directly confronting the spectators while other officials separated the crowd from the cheerleaders. The situation was brought under control within minutes, but the controversy quickly drew attention online, with many fans criticising the behaviour and calling for stricter action inside stadiums.

The uncomfortable scenes overshadowed what was otherwise a crucial night for Punjab Kings, who sealed a dominant seven-wicket victory to strengthen their IPL 2026 playoff chances. For Lucknow, the defeat marked the end of a disappointing league campaign that saw the side suffer its 10th loss of the season.

After the match, Rishabh Pant admitted it had been a difficult season for the franchise and said the team would need to learn from the setbacks.
