IPL 2025: Mohammed Kaif Suggests RCB To Acquire Rohit Sharma As Captain; AB de Villers Has Another Take

However, AB de Villiers, a legendary figure for RCB, believes that such a move is improbable. During a live Q&A session on YouTube, De Villiers expressed his scepticism about Rohit joining RCB.

"I almost laughed at the Rohit comment. That will be quite a story if Rohit moves from Mumbai Indians to RCB. Wow! Imagine the headlines. It will be bigger than Hardik Pandya's move. He moved from Gujarat Titans back to Mumbai, which although wasn't big a surprise. But if Rohit moves from Mumbai to join his rivals in RCB...oh my god! I don't think there is an option there. I don't see a possibility of MI leaving Rohit. I will give that zero or 0.1 per cent chance," he said.

AB de Villiers' Views on RCB Leadership

De Villiers also voiced his support for Faf du Plessis to continue leading RCB in the upcoming season. He believes even Virat Kohli would want the experienced South African to remain as captain. "Age is just a number, guys. I don't see why his turning 40 would be an issue," De Villiers stated.

He further elaborated on Faf's leadership qualities and experience with the team. "He has been there for a few seasons, and the players are used to him," De Villiers noted. Despite not securing an IPL trophy for RCB yet, Faf's performance as a player has been outstanding.
