IPL 2024: Virat Kohli Shares After Retirement Plans On RCB Show, Says You Won't See Me...

Former Indian skipper and ace batter Virat Kohli, who represents the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the India Premier League, recently shared his post-retirement plans during a chat at RCB's Royal Gala Dinner.

In reply to a question, Virat Kohli said that he doesn't want to leave anything untouched or have any regrets later in life that he missed out on trying or doing something. Virat said he is playing cricket wholeheartedly, adding that there's an end date to every sportsperson's career, so he doesn't want to miss out on anything.

"I think as a sportsman, we do have an end-date to our careers. So I am just working backward. I don't want to finish my career thinking 'oh, what if I have done this on that particular day' because I can't keep going on and on forever. So it's just about not leaving any undone business behind and not having any regrets later, which I am sure I won't," Virat Kohli said.

Spilling beans on after-retirement plans, Virat Kohli said once he is gone, he will go away from cricket for a long time. He added he will take a long break so that nobody will even get to see him.

"Once I am done, I will be gone, you won't see me for a while (smiles). So I want to give it everything I have till the time I play, and that's the only thing that keeps me going," he added.

Virat Kohli's statement was enough to make fans emotional. 35-year-old cricketer made his international debut in 2008 and gradually became the spine of Team India's batting lineup. He played numerous heroics for India. Broke and made several elusive records in his glittering career.

This season Virat Kohli scored 661 runs in 13 innings for RCB. Like a lone warrior, Virat Kohli kept scoring runs for his franchise, which was once at the bottom of the table losing 6 out of 7 matches. But soon, he turned the table around and helped RBC win 5 back to back matches. The Bengaluru team still has a chance to qualify for the IPL 2024 Playoffs if they defeat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the next match by a margin of 18 or more runs.
