They Left For Work Together And Never Returned: Two Close Friends Among Lucknow Fire Victims

One of the devastating incident that happened yesterday in Lucknow's Aliganj - that took the lives of 15 people after a massive fire caught in a multi- storey building.

Among the 15 people who lost their lives were two close friends from Kanpur - 28 year old Sanyam Vij and 25 year old Aurajbhan Singh.

It is to inform that the two worked together at an animation studio and shared a friendship that stretched back several years, but ended up trapped in the building when the fire broke out.

Sanyam Was Expected Home For His Grandmother's Rituals

For Sanyam Vij's family, the tragedy has deepened an already painful period of mourning.
The family, which lives in Kanpur's Govind Nagar area, had recently lost Sanyam's grandmother. Her tehravi, the traditional 13th-day death ritual, was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, and Sanyam was expected to return home to be with his family.

Instead of welcoming him home, his loved ones received the heartbreaking news of his death.

Family members said Sanyam had taken on significant responsibilities after the death of his father, Pushparaj Vij, several years ago. He had become an important source of support for the family and was known for his caring nature.

Surajbhan Was The Main Support For His Family

The tragedy has been equally painful for the family of Surajbhan Singh, a resident of Barra-7 in Kanpur.

Having already lost his father, Surajbhan played a vital role in supporting his mother, Meera Devi, and younger brother Samrat.

According to family members, he regularly travelled back to Kanpur on weekends and had only recently returned to Lucknow for work. What seemed like a routine journey turned out to be his last.

Relatives revealed that his mother has not yet been informed about his death as family members fear the emotional shock could seriously affect her health.

Friends In Life, Together In Their Final Moments

Residents of the locality described Sanyam and Surajbhan as cheerful, hardworking and helpful young men.

Their friendship was well known among neighbours and friends. They studied together, built their careers together and worked at the same animation studio.

The fact that both friends lost their lives in the same tragedy has made the incident even more heartbreaking for those who knew them.

The deaths of the two young professionals have cast a shadow over their neighbourhoods in Kanpur. Neighbours recalled their positive attitude and willingness to help others. Many described them as ambitious young men who had bright futures ahead of them.
Their sudden loss has left the community stunned, with many struggling to accept the tragic turn of events.

Families Await Final Farewell

Following the incident, relatives and friends rushed to Lucknow to complete legal formalities and await the return of the bodies after post-mortem examinations.

In homes where discussions about family gatherings and future plans once filled the air, preparations are now being made for funeral rites.
