India T20 World Cup Selection: Tilak Verma Shares Abhishek Sharma's Health Update Ahead Of Namibia Clash
India head into their second T20 World Cup match against Namibia in New Delhi still unsure about Abhishek Sharma ’s fitness. The opener has left hospital after a stomach issue, but team management are expected to delay any final decision on Abhishek Sharma selection until close to the toss at Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Tilak Varma explains that medical checks are complete and Abhishek is back with the squad, yet selection remains open. "Abhishek Sharma went to the hospital, he went to get some tests done, and has been discharged now. He is doing well. We will decide how Abhishek Sharma feels tomorrow and take a call on the game," Tilak said.

India vs Namibia T20 World Cup selection and playing XI
If Abhishek Sharma does not start against Namibia, Sanju Samson is expected to move into the playing XI. Samson is listed as the third opening option in the squad and could walk out with Ishan Kishan, who opened against the USA in India’s first group match.
Abhishek Sharma ’s first World Cup outing brings extra pressure to the call. The left-hander lasted only one ball against the USA, departing for a golden duck. India must weigh that form, the stomach issue, and the bigger fixture against Pakistan on Sunday, 15 February, before taking any risk.
Tilak Varma India vs Namibia T20 World Cup goals
Beyond the selection worries, Tilak Varma talks about the personal milestone of playing this World Cup at home. The batter says returning from injury and performing in front of Indian fans feels especially meaningful. "I am really happy to be back for the World Cup. I worked hard to gain fitness and want to win the World Cup for India," Tilak said.
