Cheteshwar Pujara Overheard Phone Call To Drop Him: His Wife Claims In 'The Diary of a Cricketer's Wife'
Cheteshwar Pujara, known for his reliability in Test cricket, has been a key player for India. Despite his contributions, he is currently not part of the national team in any format. Recently, Cheteshwar Pujara's wife, Puja, in her book 'The Diary of a Cricketer's Wife' made some shocking claims that hit hard and were not expected.
She said Cheteshwar Pujara opened his heart and told her all his career experiences.

Mentioning an incident from the 2018-19 Australia tour, a lot was going on with Cheteshwar Pujara. His father was hospitalised, he was struggling with form and dealing with a hamstring injury.
At that time, when he actually needed to be back, Pujara overheard a conversation about him potentially being dropped from the team. This occurred during a three-day break when he mostly stayed in his room to rest and treat his injury.
"Cheteshwar made the most of his three-day break and did not step out of his room much. He alternated between resting his afflicted limb and getting his strained hamstring treated. On the lone occasion when he did, he overheard someone engaged in an intense conversation on the telephone, stating that he did not want my husband to play in the coming match because he was unfit," Puja wrote.
Puja's Perspective on Social Media
Puja often learned about cricket gossip through other players' wives rather than directly from Pujara. He usually limited discussions about tours to basic details like practice sessions and meetings. However, this time she insisted on knowing more after noticing his silence during their conversation.
"But I was not buying it," Puja explained regarding her husband's quietness. "I knew quite well that when Cheteshwar went completely quiet, it usually meant he was concealing something." Eventually, she convinced him to share what had happened during the tour.
Pujara finally disclosed that someone she praised wanted him dropped due to fitness issues. He downplayed its significance by saying such things happen and don't always require a reaction. "I played and played well and that's what matters," he told her.
