WATCH VIDEO | Delhi CM Atishi Accuses BJP Of Blocking Mahila Samman Yojana Notification
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has lashed out at the BJP following a public notice issued by the Women and Child Development (WCD) Department, claiming that the Mahila Samman Yojana and the free health treatment scheme for senior citizens have not been officially notified.
The notice, published in leading newspapers, stated that these schemes do not exist and warned citizens against falling prey to fraudulent registrations.

Atishi dismissed the notice as "false and politically motivated," alleging that the BJP pressured certain officials to issue it to derail the Delhi government's welfare initiatives. "The notices issued in newspapers today are wrong. BJP, by putting pressure on a few officers, got this notice published today. Administrative and police action will be taken against these officers," she stated.
The Delhi Chief Minister clarified that the Mahila Samman Yojana, which provides a ₹1,000 monthly allowance to eligible women, has already been approved by the Delhi Cabinet, and its notification is in the public domain. Similarly, the free health treatment scheme for senior citizens, another key initiative of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has been officially announced.
Atishi accused the BJP of attempting to undermine public trust in these schemes due to the positive response they have garnered. "BJP is rattled by the overwhelming registrations for these schemes," she said, emphasizing that the AAP's campaign is focused on delivering tangible benefits to the people, unlike the BJP's alleged tactics of "criticism and misinformation."
The Mahila Samman Yojana aims to empower women by providing direct financial support, while the health treatment scheme ensures free medical care for senior citizens in Delhi across private and government hospitals. Both initiatives have been praised for their inclusivity and practicality, drawing significant public interest.
Atishi's strong rebuttal underscores the ongoing power struggle between the AAP-led Delhi government and the BJP. This incident also highlights the challenges of implementing welfare policies in a politically charged environment, where opposition parties often clash over credibility and execution.
Reassuring the public, Atishi vowed to take strict administrative and legal action against the officers involved in issuing the notice. "We will not let political interference disrupt the welfare of the people of Delhi," she declared, urging citizens to trust the government's commitment to its promises. The incident has further fueled tensions, with both parties doubling down on their respective narratives.
