Vice Prez Hamid Ansari clarifies over Tricolour controversy
New Delhi, Jan 27: A day controversy broke out that Vice President Hamid Ansari did not salute the Tricolour while the national anthem was being played during the Republic Day celebrations on Monday, Ansari today finally broke his silence over the issue.
According to news reports, Ansari said that according to the protocol he didn't have to salute the Tricolour. He added that 'only those in uniform salute the Tricolour while the national anthem is being played, whereas those in plain clothes must stand at attention.'

day
after
there
was
a
hue
and
cry
over
Ansari
not
saluting
the
Tricolour
during
the
Republic
Day
celebrations.
Many
criticised
him
on
social
media
and
some
even
slammed
him
calling
him
a
'Turkish
immigrant
tourist.'
Some even questioned him on his religion.
