Venkaiah Naidu conducts surprise checks at ministry, finds 80 officials missing
Naidu made the visit at 10 am at the ministry's office in Nirman Sadan when he realized that close to 80 officials were missing from their seats.
Naidu then ordered show cause notices to be issued to all the 80 employees.
Following this Naidu even ordered for the installation of biometric attendance system in the Ministry of Urban Development and Paliamentary Affairs Ministry.
This is not the first time that Naidu is conducting surprise visits in the ministry. Last month he conducted similar checks but let off late comers with a warning.
This comes to light after Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself conducted surprise visits in PMO after he took charge as the PM. He then asked his officials to be in the office by 9 am.
