A 23-year-old, Sahil Dhaneshra, died in a Delhi road accident on February 3 near Lal Bahadur Shastri College, allegedly caused by a minor driving an SUV at high speed and filming reels, who has been granted interim bail due to board exams. The incident involved a head-on collision with Sahil's motorcycle, and the driver faces accusations of reckless driving and lacking a license.

A disturbing video from inside the Scorpio SUV involved in the fatal Delhi road accident has surfaced, revealing moments leading up to the crash that killed 23-year-old Sahil Dhaneshra.

The accident took place on February 3 near Lal Bahadur Shastri College in Dwarka when the SUV, allegedly driven by a minor, collided head-on with Sahil's motorcycle.

The footage, reportedly shot by a woman sitting next to the teenage driver, shows the vehicle being driven at high speed on a road without a divider before the collision. The video has intensified calls for justice from Sahil's family.

Video shows moments before impact

The clip shows the SUV speeding and narrowly missing a bus before hitting the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. Sahil can be seen attempting to overtake the bus seconds before the crash.

For clarity, here's what the video suggests:

The SUV was allegedly being driven at high speed and in the wrong lane moments before the head-on collision.

Sahil's mother claimed that the final part of the footage showing the exact impact had been trimmed.

Mother alleges reckless driving

Speaking about the incident, Sahil's mother said her son was heading to work when the accident happened. She alleged the teen driver and his sister were filming reels while driving.

"My son was going to the office on the 3rd of February... He, along with his sister, was out on his Scorpio to make fun reels. The speed with which the Scorpio is being driven is clearly visible in the reel," she said.

She further alleged that the SUV was being driven dangerously. "He was driving in the opposite lane and came right in front of the bus and performed a stunt... The Scorpio collided with the motorcycle and hit the roadside parked car. The Scorpio driver did not apply the brakes after the collision," she claimed.

Calling it a criminal act, she added, "This is a criminal activity. Some people think that they can do anything on the road because their parents are wealthy, this is a criminal mentality. This is not just an accident. My son died due to their fun reel."

She also alleged that the teenager did not have a driving licence and had previous overspeeding challans. "There are already many over-speeding challans against him, yet his father did not stop him from driving. I want justice for my son. No one is safe on the road due to people like them. Strict action should be taken," she said.

Autopsy findings confirm severe injuries

The post-mortem report revealed that Sahil died due to severe haemorrhage and cranio-cerebral injuries. Doctors found skull fractures, brain swelling, rib fractures and significant internal damage consistent with a high-impact collision.

The cause of death was recorded as haemorrhagic shock resulting from severe head trauma and multiple injuries to vital organs.

Teen driver on interim bail

Police said the crash occurred at around 11:57 am and involved a Scorpio SUV, Sahil's motorcycle and a taxi. The taxi driver was also injured in the accident.

The juvenile driver, who allegedly did not possess a valid driving licence, was presented before the Juvenile Justice Board and initially sent to an observation home. However, he was granted interim bail on February 10, with the board citing his ongoing Class 10 board examinations as the reason for temporary release.
