According to Delhi Jal Board officials, the water subsidy was subjected to the funds available with the Board, and Delhi Jal Board had decided to continue to fund the scheme till March 2014, following which the government would allocate more funds.
Residents will have to pay 10 per cent more in water tariff
But since AAP government resigned on Feb 14, 2014, and the Delhi Assembly was kept in suspended animation there have been no funds set aside to continue the scheme further.
When the AAP formed the government in Delhi, it immediately implemented the subsidy on water and electricity bills bringing relief to the common man.
