IAS Dharmendra To Succeed Naresh Kumar As New Chief Secretary Of Delhi

The central government has appointed Dharmendra, an IAS officer from the 1989 batch, as Delhi's new chief secretary. He will succeed Naresh Kumar, a 1987-batch IAS officer, whose term concludes on August 31.

"With the approval of the Competent Authority, Sh. Dharmendra, IAS (AGMUT:1989) is hereby transferred from Arunachal Pradesh to Delhi and posted as Chief Secretary, GNCTD w.e.f.01.09.2024 or with effect from the date of joining, whichever is later," stated the ministry of home affairs in its order.

New Appointment Details

Dharmendra's appointment marks a significant administrative change in Delhi's governance. The transition will officially take place on September 1, 2024, or upon his joining date if it occurs later.

Naresh Kumar's tenure as chief secretary ends on August 31, paving the way for Dharmendra to assume his new role. This shift comes after Kumar's extension period reached its conclusion.
