Lok Nayak Hospital (LNJP)has registered three deaths, including a car mechanic who died on June 16 after being admitted with a high fever of 106°C, and a 70-year-old man from Bihar who succumbed to heatstroke after missing his train and wandering in the station.

Meanwhile, Noida has reported over ten deaths in the last 24 hours. Over seven patients have been admitted with symptoms of high fever (106-107°C). Five of these are on ventilators, three of whom are senior citizens.

Patients are mostly suffering from electrolyte deficiency, heatstroke, high fever, and extreme dehydration, reported India Today. Most affected individuals are labourers or rickshaw pullers, primarily above 60 years old.

Dr Gaurav Kumar, who runs a clinic in Paharganj, reports a doubling in the number of heatwave patients over the past month, predominantly affecting rickshaw pullers and daily wage labourers.

However, Delhi and its adjoining areas may experience temporary relief from the heatwave due to an ongoing western disturbance over the next 24-48 hours.
