Delhi Weather Today: IMD Issues Orange Alert For Two Days; June Rainfall Breaks 88-Year Record
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issues an orange alert for today and tomorrow in Delhi. It predicts a cloudy sky with moderate to heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning, accompanied by gusty winds at speeds of 30-40 kilometres per hour.
Today's temperature in Delhi is 37.88 degrees Celsius. The forecast predicts a minimum of 30.7 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 33 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity stands at 40 per cent, with wind speeds reaching 40 kilometres per hour. The sun rose at 5:27 AM and will set at 7:23 PM. The air quality index (AQI) is 86.0, indicating moderate air quality.

Skymet, a private weather forecasting agency, predicts intensified rainfall starting today. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter Skymet said, "The past two days have seen some respite from the downpours in Delhi and NCR (National Capital Region). However, weather experts predict a resurgence in rain activity, likely intensified rainfall over Delhi starting from July 2.
The IMD defines moderate rain as 7.6 millimetres to 35.5 millimetres in a day, heavy rain as 64.5 millimetres to 124.4 millimetres, and very heavy rain as 124.5 millimetres to 244.4 millimetres. The Safdarjung Observatory recorded 228.1 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours, the highest for June in 88 years.

July 4: The maximum temperature will reach 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum will be around 28 degrees Celsius. Expect a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning, along with gusty winds at speeds of 30-40 kilometres per hour.
July 5: Again, the maximum temperature will be 32 degrees Celsius during the day and the minimum will come down to 27 degrees Celsius. The sky will be generally cloudy with moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning.
July 6: For the third consecutive day, the maximum temperature will be 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will further go down to 26 degrees Celsius. There will be a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning.
July 7: Expect a maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius. The sky will be generally cloudy with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning.
