According to the India Meteorological Department's Regional Centre in Delhi, heatwaves have been forecast to continue for this week.
Today, 12 June, there is an orange alert for the heatwave, while the coming week has only yellow alerts. Still, readers are advised to remain cautious when planning any trips outside as nearby states like Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh have been forecast to have red alerts for heatwaves in the coming days, according to a press release by IMD released on the afternoon of 11 June.

Delhi Weather And Temperature For The Next Week:
An orange alert has been given out for heatwaves today, 12 June, with yellow alerts lasting from 13 June all the way till 18 June. Temperatures during this week will remain high during the day, with maximum temperatures reaching up to 43°C to 45°C. Some areas, like Najafgarh and Narela may even see temperatures go all the way up to 46°C to 47°C this week.
Minimum temperatures are expected float around 30°C, with even places like Ridge not seeing much relief as the minimum temperature this week is forecast to be 28°C.
As for other weather-related forecasts, the skies are expected to be partly cloudy throughout the week, with clear skies only on 15 June. Strong winds may blow during the day, reaching speeds anywhere between 25 km/h to 40 km/h.
IMD's Advice For The Long String Of Heatwaves:
The heat that's going to be looming over Delhi this week may put people at risk if they're exposed to the sun for too long or perform hard labour. Vulnerable sections of Delhi's population like children, the elderly, and those with chronic diseases are especially susceptible to developing heat illness symptoms. IMD has given out the following advice to help combat the heat:
Avoid heat exposure- keep cool.
Avoid dehydration.
Drink sufficient water- even if not thirsty.
Use ORS, homemade drinks like lassi, torani (rice water), lemon water, buttermilk, etc. to keep yourself hydrated.
