Delhi Police Nab 15 Foreign Nationals In Illegal Stay Operation; Deportation Ordered
On Monday, 15 foreign nationals were arrested by the Delhi Police for unlawfully entering India without a valid visa. Twelve Nigerians, two Bangladeshis, and one Ivory Coaster were among those detained. The arrests were made during operations in the national capital's Mohan Garden and Uttam Nagar neighborhoods, officials said. Following their arrest, the individuals were transferred to detention centers. Their deportation has been ordered by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) after proper verification.
Six Bangladeshi nationals, including two who were allegedly posing as transgender to avoid detection, were also taken into custody by the Delhi Police earlier on Saturday. Mahi (22), Tanya (19), Aklima Bibi (35), Ambrose, Md Kamal (51), and Mahbub Alam (50) were among those detained in this previous operation.

Police claim that Mahbub Alam had obtained a valid visa and entered India for a scheduled visit to the Portuguese Embassy. But even after his visa expired on April 8, he remained in the country illegally.
Another incident occurred in the Mahipalpur area of southwest Delhi, where two Bangladeshi nationals, Mahi and Tanya, were detained for using agents to enter India illegally through porous border routes. In order to evade police detection, they had been living in the city and posing as transgender people.
Mahi and Tanya disclosed during questioning that they had received hormone therapy and minor gender-affirming procedures to support their transgender identities. Additionally, they identified Pinky and Irara, two other Bangladeshi nationals, as facilitators who helped them obtain forged documents and settle in Delhi.
Together with the FRRO, the Delhi Police continue to keep an eye on cases of illegal immigration and overstaying to make sure the proper legal procedures and deportation procedures are followed.
